Our Semi-Custom Process
TIMELINE: 6-8 WEEKS
Step 1 — Build your Suite
Build your invitation suite from our range of collection designs and add-ons, such as custom envelope liners and belly bands.
Step 2 — Design
Our goal is to make the process as simplified and streamlined as possible, so we’ve created an online form designed to exchange your information and wedding details. With this, we’ll begin creating your initial design presentation, and will create a fun and inspiring custom color palette using your wedding colors!
Step 3 — Refine
We want you to love your stationery as much as we love designing it. Once you’ve received your initial design presentation, it will open up the conversation to your color palette options and your wedding text. We’ll keep refining this until it’s just right.
Step 4 — Approval
When you’re both 100% happy with your wedding invitation mockup, we’ll send you pdf proofs for approval before moving into production.
Step 5 — Printing
What makes us unique and sets us apart from other design studios is that we do all our design and foiling in-house, ensuring that everything is produced to perfection. We have a large state-of-the-art hot foil press and a 1920’s Chandler & Price letterpress, both of which we love to experiment with.
Step 6 — Delivery
Your stationery is ready for shipping! We will make sure your printed materials are delivered to you safely and on time, anywhere in the world.
PRINTING YOUR INVITATIONS
We offer a range of antique printing techniques to give your wedding invitations depth, texture, and an element of luxury to excite your guests.
Foil-Pressed Invitations
Foiling is the process of adhering foil to paper using heat. Your design will be etched into a quarter inch slab of pure copper, and then locked into our hot foil press ready for printing. We’ll then begin stamping your design with a foil color of your choice, into extra thick cotton paper. Foil comes in a range of colors and shades, the most popular being metallic gold, silver, and rose gold.
Letterpress Invitations
Letterpress is the process of applying ink to paper using a polymer plate with your design, on our 1920’s Chandler & Price letterpress. If you’re looking to add more color to your suite, and also want depth and texture to your design, letterpress is definitely for you. We can use multiple ink colors on each piece of stationery, and each color will be hand mixed in our studio to match the Pantone guide.
CREATING YOUR CUSTOM COLOR PALETTE
We don’t limit our couples to stock colors and papers, and instead work with them to create a custom color palette just for them! We have an incredibly wide range of papers, foils, and colors that ensures each suite feels fun and unique.
Foil Colors + Letterpress Inks
We use the Pantone book as our reference guide for all letterpress invitations. There are hundreds of shades that we pick from, and it ensures all of our projects are perfectly color matched.
There are also so many different colors, shades, and textured foils that we love to play around with. The benefits of foil is that you can print any color onto any paper color, making the possibilities with foil endless! We love foil and recommend it to any color-loving couple.
Paper Mills
We want to provide our couples with custom color palettes, so we’re always seeking out new papers and colors to play around with! These include Gmund, Colorplan, Keaykolour, Basis, French Paper, Fedrigoni, and many more.
If there’s a particular paper color you want to incorporate into your suite, we will find it!
